Mapogo is a travel journal built around a map of everywhere you have been. Sign in with Apple, or choose to continue without an account, then start filling the map in. Nothing else is required.
On the Map tab, tap any country to open its sheet and mark it visited. To go deeper, open a country and mark the states, provinces, or cities you actually set foot in. Marking a city or region automatically marks the country that contains it, and a country stays locked as visited while any of its regions or cities are marked, so your map can never contradict itself.
Create a trip on the Trips tab, give it dates and a destination, then lay out the itinerary day by day. Journal entries attach to a trip and hold text and photos, and you can add them while travelling or long after you get home. Trips, entries, and photos are unlimited on every plan. A trip also carries a packing checklist, and can remind you two hours before each flight, check-in, or activity.
Open any country to get its guide: entry rules for the passport you set in the app, the months worth going, a currency converter, plugs and languages, vaccines, tap water, and the local emergency number. Every fact shows where it came from and when it was gathered, and the guides are bundled with the app, so they work with no signal. Only the live weather card needs a connection.
The Explore tab carries a shelf of written-out itineraries. Tap Use this plan on any of them and it becomes a draft trip in your own list, which you can then rewrite however you like.
The Stats tab holds your badge shelf, the world wonders and the other collectible trackers, and a share button that renders a poster of your map, your travel card, a single trip, or your passport of flags. Posters are full resolution and free on every plan. Mapogo also ships two home screen widgets: your world map, and the next thing on your itinerary.
Mapogo Pro is an optional subscription: $3.99 per month or $31.99 per year, both with a 7-day free trial. It unlocks unlimited region and city tracking (the free plan includes your first 10 of each), the four collectible trackers, and the extra map styles and colours.
Mapogo Pro is sold and billed entirely by Apple through your App Store account, so all of it is managed on Apple's side rather than ours. To switch between monthly and yearly, cancel, or see your next billing date, open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the renewal and you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Open Profile, then the Mapogo Pro row, and tap Restore purchase. That re-checks your subscription against the App Store. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple account that made the purchase. If it still does not appear, email us and mention the Apple account region you bought it in.
Nothing you saved is ever deleted. Regions, cities, and tracker items you already marked stay in your data, and a Pro-only map style simply reverts to a free one. If you resubscribe later, everything is where you left it.
Your trips, journal entries, photos, and visited places are stored on your device. Mapogo has no backend server, so we cannot see your content, and we cannot recover it for you.

The map streams its tiles over the internet, so it needs a connection the first time you view an area. Check that you are online and that Mapogo is not restricted under Settings, Mobile Data. Force-quitting and reopening the app resolves most tile-loading stalls. The rest of the app, including your trips, journal, stats, and the bundled country guides, works without a signal. The one exception inside a guide is the live weather card, which needs a connection and hides itself without one.
Mapogo uses Apple's own photo picker, which shows your whole library and needs no permission from you. If a photo will not attach, check that it has finished downloading from iCloud Photos by opening it once in the Photos app, then try again. Very large or damaged files can also fail to import.
Reminders fire two hours before an itinerary item starts, and only for trips that have them switched on. Check the toggle in Trip settings, and check that notifications are allowed for Mapogo under Settings, Notifications, Mapogo. Reminders are scheduled on the device, so an item you add while in Airplane mode still works.
The home screen widgets read a snapshot that the app writes for them, so they catch up the next time you open Mapogo and then on the system's own refresh schedule. Opening the app is the fastest way to bring a widget up to date.
Guide facts such as visa rules, travel advisories, and exchange rates are bundled with the app, and each one shows its source and the date it was gathered. Treat them as a starting point and confirm anything that matters with the official source we cite, since rules change faster than app updates ship. If you spot something genuinely incorrect, please tell us which country and which fact.
Mapogo covers all 255 countries and territories, along with the states, provinces, and major cities within them. If somewhere you have been is genuinely absent, email us the name and we will look at adding it.
Mapogo needs iOS 17 or later on iPhone. It is a light-only app by design, so it does not follow the system dark appearance.
